“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
There are many people who are living a life in sin and separation from God because they believe they must. For many, they have done some bad stuff in their life and don’t think they can be forgiven. The reality is, it’s often them who can’t forgive themselves. Do you fit in this category? Do you believe that even God can’t save you now?
We live in a fallen world and there is no escaping hardship and pain. Sometimes, you can make all the right choices and decisions only to still be met with adversity and sorrow. Sometimes, life just isn’t fair. Jesus promised us Life through Him; He didn’t promise that there wouldn’t be any hardships or mistakes.

If you have made some poor choices in life, even if they were way back in the past, just know that Jesus can and will forgive you for them. Your Salvation isn’t based on what you’ve done; it’s based on what you believe Jesus did. Jesus saves those who believe He is God the Son who died for our sins on a cross and who was raised back to life three days later. That’s what Salvation is based on.
It’s so simple, yet for some, it’s near impossible to accept. I am writing today to encourage you to forget all the false information you have received in some way or another and to start over in a new life with Jesus. I’m writing to encourage you to start a personal journey to seek out who Jesus is and who you are in Jesus and what power is in you when you receive Jesus. Satan, the devil, will tell you all sorts of things to make you believe that Salvation isn’t for you; it’s time to put him in his place and break free.

Satan tells us lies to prevent us from turning to God
“For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
This Scripture tells us that the devil is the father of lies. He is the source, and all who follow him are prone to taking on his characteristics. Here, Jesus is teaching that when a person isn’t walking in the Will of the Father, they are slaves to sin. When a person is a slave to sin, they are open to attacks from the devil.
Satan goes about telling lies in any fashion he can. He has workers who are always around you and who are looking for ways into your life. He is watching for moments of weakness where he can slip in and whisper something into your ear; something that seems plausible, but, is a lie. How can you know it’s a lie? Take it to Scripture and see what God’s Word says about it. God’s Word, the bible, is the source of truth.
If you want freedom from the lies of the devil, you must come out from the shelter of the devil and into the shelter of the Holy Spirit.

If you don’t live for Jesus, you live for Satan
I know this is a strong statement that I’ve made with this heading, however, the Scriptures clearly say that this is true. You might say that you don’t live for Satan and that you aren’t under his shelter, nor are you his slave, and it’s very well likely that you are a good person who doesn’t do harm to anyone. But being a good person and being surrendered to Christ are two different things; only one of which results in everlasting life in the Kingdom of God and freedom from the enemy.
“But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)”
This means if you aren’t living for Jesus, you are living only to please your sinful nature, which is the spirit of Satan. Okay, so what I am saying is that if you find that you are under spiritual attack from Satan, then you need to come out from under his control.
Even if you have accepted Jesus at some point in your life, you can still be under the control of Satan. This happens because when a person sins, Satan is given power by that person to come into their life and destroy. And, he will.
What happens is, when you live in a sinful manner, these sins build up. Satan will tempt you to sin, then he will remind you of your sins. And, even though Christ died for your sins, if you don’t follow Him, you don’t get access to His forgiveness. Also, as you go about living in more sin, Satan will keep using these to push you further and further away from God until you feel worthless, unlovable, and unsavable.
Don’t believe this lie if you are hearing it. Jesus has saved some pretty rough people in His time, and to this day, the way to Salvation is the same and is still available to all who will call on the name of Jesus and believe.
God casts away our sins and remembers them no more
“He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.”
“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake
and will never think of them again.”
These two verses are written to show you that when you turn to God and confess your sins to Him, He forgives you for those sins and puts them out of His memory. These Scriptures don’t have limitations, nor do they point to exactly which sins He will forgive. God see’s sin as sin. The smallest sin is likened to the biggest sin. A small lie is just as bad as the worst murder.
You must understand that freedom from past mistakes is available to you through surrender to Jesus, confession of sins, and finally, repentance from those sins. Repentance is a fancy term for turning away from or changing your mind about.
There is a condition to forgiveness from God; there is a time in the bible that says that God won’t forgive your sins. It’s when you won’t forgive someone else for their sins against you.
“But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
This is another way that Satan will cause damage in your life. He knows that if he can create a root of bitterness within you, then he will effectively prevent you from living a life of freedom in Christ. Bitterness will bring destruction. If you have any bitterness towards another person, or, if there is anyone who you just can’t bring yourself to forgive, bring the situation to God in prayer.
You can go to God in any condition. He already knows that you have made mistakes in your life and that there is sin. He will help you make things right. If you go to God with a humble heart and ask Him to help you forgive someone, He will surely help you. I encourage you to bring anything to God that might be causing you heartache and separation from God.
Especially, any thoughts that make you feel like you can’t have a relationship with God; that you are too bad; that you will just sin again – bring these to God in prayer and humble submission before Him, with true repentance, and I know He will help you with these and He will deliver you from the hands of the enemy.
There are literally millions of people who have never experienced freedom from Satan. There are many people walking around with a huge burden in their life that God is willing to take from them. But God won’t come and automatically do this. God wants us to choose Him and to surrender to Him and His provision. Then He will take the burden from us as we release our grip from it.
There are literally millions of Christians who are saved, but who still carry heavy burdens in their life; people who haven’t realized that they can bring that burden, whatever situation it is in their life, to God and walk away from the stress of that burden. God is strong and can carry the heaviest of loads. However, as long as we choose to carry our burdens or hang on to them, Satan will keep piling them on.
If you are living apart from Christ, and if you are tired of listening to the lies of the devil, then now is the time to come to Jesus. It’s a decision you must make.
If you feel like you don’t deserve Salvation, then you are only experiencing truth; no one deserves Salvation. God is a God of love, grace, and mercy. Salvation is a free gift from God that no one deserves. He didn’t have to give His Son to die on a cross for our sins; this too was an act of love, grace, and mercy. This is why Salvation is available to anyone and everyone who will simply believe in Jesus, His Son.
Nobody can ever say that they gained Salvation through works, money, or from being good.
