Do You Know About God’s Love?

When you think of God, do you think He is a God of Love or do you think He’s harsh and demanding? Do you feel like God loves you or that you deserve His love? In this article, I want to help you understand what God’s love is and how you can walk in harmony with Him.

Too many people feel like they’ve done too much wrong for God to love them, but the Bible describes to us that God’s love is unconditional. There are two main issues: there is a devil who goes about lying to people and making them believe that they aren’t good enough; and, there are too many people who don’t understand what it means to follow Jesus and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and because they aren’t right with God, they experience discipline instead of blessing – this can lead to a feeling of abandonment and unworthiness.

I understand there are other reasons why people don’t feel like God can love them, but if they understood the true character of God, they’d know that God does in fact, love them. He wants to lift them up and help them break free from the grips of the enemy.

Just like a loving father and mother must discipline a rebellious child, God does the same to us. Likewise, just as a loving father and mother will give gifts and rewards to a well-behaved child, God does the same to us. The issue lies in us linking God’s love to God’s blessings; “If God doesn’t bless me or answer my prayers, He must be mad at me.” Even if God doesn’t bless you the way you want, this doesn’t mean He doesn’t love you.

The devil is alive and kicking, and he’s going around confusing people and doing his best to keep them down and separated from God’s love. God loves all of His creation, but Satan will mess with people’s thinking until they won’t even accept His love. If you want to know more about Satan and his agenda against you, I encourage you to check out a book I wrote, titled: “Don’t let the devil defeat you.”

God loved us first while we were still sinners

1 John 4:19
“We love each other because he loved us first.”
John 3:16
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

If you feel like you’ve messed up and that God can’t love you because there’s sin in your life, these Scriptures here are telling you that God loved you and all His people first. Before He sent His Son as a sacrifice for your sins, He already loved you. This is exactly why He sent His Son; to extend His love even further and create a way for you to have a close relationship with Him.

Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection was the ultimate act of love. Through this, God redeemed all His people from the grip of death; that is, from Satan. Not everyone believes in Jesus, but for those who do, God has given them eternal life and Salvation.

For those who don’t accept his offer of Salvation, He doesn’t love them less; He is instead, burdened by their decision to deny the Son. For this, there is a price that must be paid, because God is a God of Justice and must uphold the full extent of His law. How can God condemn people to such a place as Hell? His desire is not for this.

Hell was created for Satan and the fallen angels. God never wanted for any of His creation to have to perish in Hell. But He also didn’t want to force people to love Him, so He gave them the dignity of choice. Unfortunately, many people make the wrong choice that leads to eternal death.

When you listen to the lies of Satan and follow his way of living, you are then responsible for any consequences that are attached to those actions. However, when you surrender to God and walk in fellowship with Jesus daily while rebuking the devil and casting sin from your life, you fall under the protection of God, which will ultimately feel like God’s love is upon you.

Can anything separate us from God’s love?

Romans 8:38-39
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

When you surrender to God and strive to fellowship with Him each day through prayer, bible reading, and praise and worship, your connection to Him will grow stronger. This Scripture is telling you that if you have made a choice to follow God, that there’s nothing that can prevent you or tear you apart from Him.

Learning about the tactics of the devil is helpful, because the devil is deceptive. If you don’t know anything about him, you might believe that he’s powerful. However, when you have the Spirit of God in you, you are far more powerful and with a simple rebuke of the devil in the Name of Jesus, he must leave you.

Book CoverDon't Let the devil Defeat You - learn to combat the tactics of the devil through Christ to be better equipped in spiritual battle.

If you understand the power and authority of the Holy Spirit in you, who is given to you when you receive Christ as Lord and Savior, then you won’t struggle with falling away from God. It’s when you listen to the devil and give into him that you start to separate from God’s providence. God is with you everywhere you go, but you have the ability to pull away from Him and give power and authority in your life to the devil.

The devil will separate you from God’s love if you give him a chance. Don’t listen to him. Ask God for discernment and learn to rebuke the devil. This will help you grow in the Lord.

What is the best definition of love?

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

This is likely the fullest definition of love you will find. This Scripture shows that love is meant to be unconditional; at least the way God intends it to be.

This is the way God loves you and all of us. He doesn’t connect His love to your actions. Consider the average father or mother; if a child breaks the law or has a bad attitude, is that child then cut off from love? Of course, not. The child is disciplined; not abandoned.

The same is true for the way we are to love others. We aren’t supposed to judge others and love them or hate them based on their actions. Instead, we’re supposed to let God be the judge of them, and we’re to simply love them and forgive them and encourage them to do good.

There are many couples who have a potentially great relationship, but who are struggling because they’re holding grudges towards each other for something one did to the other. This is the work of Satan, and this will tear the relationship apart if given enough time.

However, forgiveness and love will repair that relationship and that couple stands to have the best relationship ever, moving forward. There is great power in love, and this is why God wants us to practice it. With love for your neighbor, would there be war? Would there be murder? Would there be robberies and vandalism?

Sadly, Satan is the opposite of love and those who choose to follow the devil tend to act like the devil. Thus, we live in a broken world where love can be hard to find.

Fortunately for you, every day is a great day to practice loving others the way you want God to love you; unconditionally.

Where God’s love is, there is no fear

1 John 4:18
“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.”

Satan is where fear comes from. We are told that God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear, so this means it must come from the devil. Even people who walk closely with God still have moments of fear, but God is telling you that you don’t have to fear.

Fear is based on thoughts of worry about what might happen. God is in control and He knows everything that will happen. If you are walking in close fellowship with God, then you can be sure that He will lead you down the best path possible. If you are living to please your sinful and fleshly nature, then you should be afraid, because it’s possible that the thoughts of worry might have some truth.

The closer you move to God through daily communication and fellowship and learning, the stronger your faith in God will be. When your faith in Him is strong, your belief that He will keep you from harm will be strong, too. It’s when you don’t trust God that you can start to believe that He won’t be able to help you or keep you safe.

Satan will work tirelessly to keep you from growing in the Lord because he knows you will become powerful against him. So, he never gives up. He keeps the pressure on you day and night and watches for an opening into your life. Keep that door shut. Seek God and surrender fully to Him and immerse yourself in His love. In doing this, you will not walk in fear, but in courage and confidence and determination through the power of the Holy Spirit in you.

How do you show God love?

Mark 12:29-31
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

By showing unconditional love to others, and by not judging them for their wrongdoings, you are showing God love. When you put God first in your life and you make Him the most important part of everything you do, you are showing God love. When you rebuke the devil and his ways and turn to the way of God, you are showing God love.

In most instances, if you want to feel or sense God’s love, you need to move toward Him and show Him love. Relationships are meant to be reciprocating and not a one-way action. If you wake up and start your day seeking God and making yourself available to His service, you are showing Him that you love Him, you trust Him, He matters to you, and His agenda is of the greatest importance to you.

Also, when you understand the full weight of Hell and eternity and the Day of Judgment, you’ll also develop a strong understanding of why a personal relationship with Him is important.

God loves you whether you follow Him or not, but Salvation is a free gift from Him that’s only available to those who love Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

Romans 12:9
“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.”

Do you feel like God loves you? Do you love God? Do you know about Satan and what his tactics and schemes against you are?

Education about God and the devil are vitally important for you to understand. It’s literally the difference between life and death. It’s who you follow that will dictate where you’ll spend eternity. This has nothing to do with God’s love for you.

God’s love never changes and it’s always there. This is why He can and will forgive you as quick as you can confess and repent of the sin. His love is unconditional and has nothing to do with your actions. Don’t let the devil or anyone tell you that God doesn’t or can’t or won’t love you. Reach out to God and you’ll find that He’s right there waiting for you.
